Carson: God's favor blesses us far beyond what we deserve

God shows favor to persons who delight in, connect with, and give honor to God.“These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.” (Isaiah 66:2)Receiving the favor of God demands that we strive to be obedient to God.Favor is God’s kindness and benevolence given to those who love God: favor, health, opportunity, endurance, and advancement.John Eckhardt states: “God’s thoughts concerning your peace and prosperity are much higher than you could imagine. They don’t expect to get breaks, they don’t expect to get promoted, they don’t expect anything positive. So I just try to get people to say, I believe if we expect God’s favor, if we declare it, if we thank him when we do see good things happening, then we’re going to see more of that.”The Psalmist in awe of God’s favor on him asked: “What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.” (Psalm 8:4-5)God’s favor demands your faith. Embrace God’s favor by “calling those things whi...
